“In my Father’s house (are many mansions)” venne composta da Aileene Hanks nel 1953; la compositrice si basò sul verso della bibbia di Giovanni 14:2.
Il brano venne registrato per la prima volta dai Blackwood Brothers nel 1954. I membri di questo gruppo erano i tre fratelli Blackwood (Roy, Doyle e James), R.W. Blackwood (il figlio di Roy) e, dal 1954 al 1965, JD Sumner che negli anni ’70 avrebbe fatto parte di coristi di Elvis.
