questao accenno è il frutto di una jam session fra Elvis, Carl Perkins e Jerry Lee Lewis (era presente, ma non cantò, anche Johnny Cash). Il tutto avvenne negli studi di Sam Phillips a Memphis, dove lo stesso Elvis iniziò la sua carriera e quel 4 dicembre si era fermato per salutare Sam. Capitò nel bel mezzo di una session di Jerry Lee Lewis ed il resto venne da sé.
Phillips ebbe la bella idea di accendere il registratore…
STORIA DELLA CANZONE: questa canzone fu composta da Bill Monroe nel 1946.
Lo stesso Monroe la registrò assieme al suo gruppo The Bluegrass Boys per la Columbia (Columbia 20503).
Il brano è intitolato anche “Summertime has passed and gone”.
