STORIA DELLA CANZONE: “Such a night” venne scritta da Lincoln Chase e fu registrata per la prima volta da Clyde Mc Phatter And The Drifters il 12 novembre 1953 per la Atlantic Records e fu pubblicata durante la prima settimana del 1954.
La loro versione arrivò fino al 5° posto della classifica di Rhythm’n’Blues americana.
Anche Johnny Ray la registrò lo stesso anno ma fu bandita in molte zone degli Stati Uniti a causa del testo molto “spinto” per quell’epoca.
In ogni caso, la versione di Johnny Ray arrivò prima in Inghilterra.
