esiste una registrazione, sempre del 15 marzo 1971, nella quale Elvis canta in duetto con Temple Riser e Ginger Holladay, due sue coriste, ma rimane tutt’ora inedita ufficialmente.
Durante le versioni dal vivo, Elvis a volte cambiava il terzo verso della canzone con queste parole:
“And the first time ever I lay with you and felt your heartbeat close to mine. I knew what joy would fill the earth and would last till the end of time, my love and would last till the end of time”

STORIA DELLA CANZONE: “The first time ever I saw your face” fu registrata per la prima volta nel 1958 da Peggy Seeger.
La prima incisione di questa canzone è di Peter, Paul e Mary ma venne portata al successo nel 1972 da Roberta Flack, grazie all’input dovuto alla sua presenza nel film dell’anno precedente “Play misty for me” con Clint Eastwood (la sua incisione risale al 1969 per il 33 giri “First take”).
