Elvis reincise questa canzone per la colonna sonora del film “The trouble with girls (and how to get into it)” (“Guai con le ragazze”) il 23 ottobre 1968 negli studi United Artists Recorders a Hollywood, California.
Il numero di master per il film è 2003, quello musicale è XPA1-3977 e fu scelta la take numero 10 per il master. Le sovraincisioni a questa nuova registrazione vennero effettuate l’8 maggio 1969 nello studio A della RCA a Nashville, Tennessee. La durata della canzone è 2’14”.

STORIA DELLA CANZONE: “Swing down sweet chariot” è basata sulla canzone “Swing low sweet chariot” che fu arrangiata da Henry Thacker Burleigh nel 1917.
Burleigh, a sua volta, basò il suo arrangiamento ad un vecchio spiritual negro che risale, almeno, al 1872.
Numerosi artisti registrarono “Swing low sweet chariot”: The Fisk University Jubilee Quartet (1910), Benny Goodman, The Ink Spots, Bing Crosby e The Champs (1958, versione strumentale intitolata “Chariot rock”).
