STORIA DELLA CANZONE: “(There’ll be)Peace in the valley (for me)” venne composta dal reverendo Thomas A. Dorsey, ispiratosi ad una valle che aveva visto in un suo viaggio in treno dall’Indiana a Cincinnati nel 1939. Esso si basò sullo Spiritual “We shall walk through the valley in peace”.
La prima registrazione avvenne nel 1947 da parte dei Flying Clouds Of Detroit”, ma il più grande successo fu quello del 1951 da parte di Red Foley che vendette oltre un milione di copie, raggiungendo il 7° posto della classifica Country nazionale.
