STORIA DELLA CANZONE: Johnny Christopher affermò che scrisse questa canzone in una ventina di minuti, dopo che si era svegliato alle sette e mezza di mattina col titolo in testa (era andato a letto solo mezz’ora prima).
Dopo aver registrato un nastro dimostrativo, lo consegnò a Chips Moman, il produttore di quella session, che lo fece ascoltare ad Elvis il quale fu talmente colpito e commosso dalla canzone che scoppiò a piangere. Portò il demo a Graceland e, per una settimana, lo ascoltò e lo cantò moltissime volte.
