STORIA DELLA CANZONE: “Let it be me” venne composta da Pierre Delanoe e da Gilbert Becaud nel 1955 col titolo francese di “Je t’appartiens”.
Due anni dopo Mann Curtis scrisse il testo inglese e la canzone si intitolò, appunto, “Let it be me”.
La prima incisione di questo brano è di Gilbert Becaud nel 1955.
Fu solo due anni dopo che Jill Corey presentò il brano in inglese, in un episodio del telefilm “Climax”.
Solo nel 1960 questa canzone diventò un successo grazie agli Everly Brothers che la portarono al 7° posto nella classifica americana.
Altre popolari incisioni sono quelle di Betty Everett e Jerry Butler (1964), degli Sweet Inspirations (1967) e di Glenn Campbell e Bobby Gentry (1969).
