NOTE: doppio CD che ci fa ascoltare due audience recordings registrate a Las Vegas il 4 ed il 7 settembre 1970 (rispettivamente midnight e closing show).
Lo spettacolo del giorno 4 esordisce su silver disc ed Elvis è, come in tutto quell’ingaggio, in forma splendida. Molto rilassato, scherza su alcune canzoni (un accenno a “La bamba”, “I walk the line”, “My way” e a “Crying time”). La registrazione è incompleta: parte di “Blue suede shoes” proviene dal midnight show del giorno 5 mentre, poiché mancano tre canzoni, le tracce dalla 19 alla 22 sono state tratte anch’esse dal concerto di mezzanotte della giornata seguente.
Lo show di chiusura del 7 settembre aveva visto la luce nel CD del 2008 “September nights” (“SR Records“) in suono davvero molto scarso. La “Straight Arrow” ci propone l’incisione da un nastro di qualità superiore.
La confezione è in digipack a 8 pannelli, con immagini scattate a Las Vegas nel mese di agosto del ’70 e la riproduzione di una recensione giornalistica dell’epoca.
