Cofanetto di 4 CD che include i più importanti masters riguardanti la musica sacra cantata da Elvis.
Non si tratta dell’opera omnia dedicata al Gospel in quanto è molto più completo il box “Peace in the valley” ma anche in questo caso essa è molto ben rappresentata.
Inspiegabili queste assenze:
“Miracle of the Rosary”, “Oh Happy Day“, “When the Saints Go Marching In“, “I Asked the Lord”, “He” e “The Lord’s Prayer“.
Non abbiamo nemmeno i Gospels eseguiti il 4/12/1956 durante il Million Dollar Quartet però troviamo “I was born about ten thousand years ago” e “If I can dream” che hanno davvero pochissimo “sapore” Gospel…
Inoltre, anche se non segnalato, abbiamo un inedito: “Swing down sweet chariot” nella registrazione per la colonna sonora di “The trouble with girls” (23 ottobre 1968). Il coro originale è quello dei Mello Men ma in questa versione la possiamo ascoltare con il coro dei Blossoms.
